The Telegraph has been known to work very closely with the student community helping them with information and guidance at every level. Be it The Telekids, TTIS, The Young Metro, we have touched lives of students at every level.
The Telegraph also believes that children with a scientific temper are true assets of the nation. The Telegraph considers it a responsibility to create opportunities for these children to showcase and nurture their innovative ideas into working models. Keeping the said goal in mind, we had designed Mission Invention, an invention fair in collaboration with SRM University and Science Communicator's Forum (Kolkata Chapter) which is now into its second year.
In this endeavor, we are not only planning to recognize their efforts but also reward the students. Any student studying in classes IX to XII will be able to participate in the fair by registering with us. The details of the registration will be available at www.missioninvention.in. The top 10 projects will be felicitated amongst which, the winners of the best project will win Rs.1.25 Lakhs as the first prize, the second best project will win Rs.0.75 Lakhs and the winners of the rest of the top 8 projects will win Rs.25,000.
'MISSION INVENTION' is designed to find the next generation scientists and aims to promote and nurture science and scientific research among students. It provides a platform for them to showcase their creativity, applicability and talent. A state level exhibition like this allows every student to nurture his/her curiosity and learn better. It is a science fair for secondary and higher secondary students (IX-XII). The program emphasizes on the practical aspects of education with the theme "In search of cleaner, greener and healthier India" and the sub themes Waste to Wealth.
A student from 9th to 12th grade can register online for the event with their own invention project. The participants for the exhibition are selected from the pool of registered students based on their project. The selection process is overseen by the experts in Science Communicator's Forum, Kolkata Chapter. Selected projects will be invited to Kolkata for a single day exposition to be held either end Feb or early March 2019.
